J. Shade

Jordan J. Shade aka the lieutenant, aka the ladies man, aka the 80’s Baby R&B Teddy Bear, was born May 10, 1986. By the age of 3 yrs. old Shade had already developed a passion for music. He has always been an entertainer and dreamed of making it big. He was raised in church where he learned to play piano and sung with the choir.

In June of 1989 he won the MC Hammer Dance Competition. By the age of 9 he was playing the drums for the local drill teams and for his church. While attending Hoover High School in Des Moines, Iowa Shade sang in various choirs. Right after High School graduation J. Shade ventured out to pursue a musical career. He moved to Minnesota and began attending the Minnesota School of Business under its Music business program.

This is where he learned the ins and outs of the music business in conjunction with I.P.R., a recording school in Minnesota. When J. Shade returned to Des Moines he started recording and performing. His is still wowing audiences to this day with his electrifying shows and his soulful sound that reminds you of a young Gerald Levert, with “the ladies’ man” characteristics of Barry White.

His influences are gone but not forgotten. No more Barry White; no more Gerald Levert; and no more Luther Vandross; the world is much colder without its R&B “Teddy Bears”. When J. Shade’s music brings you closer to that special someone you will begin to feel the fire as you fall into the heat of passion. Cuddle up with that special someone and feel the warmth of the “80’s Baby R&B Teddy Bear”, J Shade.
